The Bible holds many mysteries:

Col 1:25 of which I became a minister, according to the stewardship of Elohim given to me for you, to preach the Word of YAHWEH everywhere,

Col 1:26 even the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now is revealed to His saints;

Col 1:27 to whom YAHWEH willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory;

Eph 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

Eph 5:31 “For this, a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one (echad) flesh.” (Gen 2:24)

Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak as to Messiah and His Congregation. However, I don’t think there is a more intriguing mystery than Revelation 3:7.

Rev 3:7 And to the messenger of the congregation in Philadelphia, write: These things says the Holy One, the True One, “The One having the key of David, the One opening, and no one shuts; and shuts, and no one opens:”

I want to share this amazing mystery of the Key of David to you in this article. Proverbs tell us this:

Pro 25:2 The glory of Elohim is to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

It is amazing that in such a technological world were anything can be looked up and verified on the Internet around the clock that so many in this world will still be completely blinded to the truth of scripture and be hoodwinked into the deception of Satan’s society.

One such deception is the place of the original Mount Zion from scripture, which is also the place that Solomon and also Herod built the Temple or sanctuary of Yahweh.

Mount Zion is the most important piece of real estate in all the Holy Scriptures and as hard as it is to believe up until about 120 years ago all the earth including the Jews in Israel had forgotten where it was. How could this be?

What most people forget is that for almost 1,000 years Jews were expelled from Jerusalem and had virtually no presence in Yahweh’s set apart city. First the Roman Emperor Hadrian expelled all Jews in 135 A.D after the Bar Kokhba Revolt and even changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, and he also changed the name of Israel to Palestine. Even the famous Wailing Wall was not even recognized until the 13th century A.D.

And even when Jews started to migrate back again to Israel in the 15th and 16th centuries, they migrated to the north in Galilee and not Jerusalem. That is why the modern city of Sfat, north of the Sea of Galilee, is considered as a new Jerusalem and holy spot; and many Jews in Sfat believe the Messiah will return there, and not Jerusalem. It is amazing how time can change the concepts of even those considered to be religious.

So up until the late 19th century most people believed that Mount Zion was the hill in the upper city of Jerusalem and not in its actual place in Mount Zion, which is the City of David. Then in 1864 Charles Warren, the British explorer, came to Jerusalem and that was the beginning of the transformation to understanding that the historians were wrong on where Mount Zion was up to that point.

After that, in 1890, a small boy found the inscription in what has come to be known as Hezekiah’s Tunnel that proved to all that the City of David and Mount Zion was indeed in the lower hill and not the upper city. So if the scholars can get this most important fact so wrong, then it is no surprise that they can also get the place of Solomon’s Sanctuary (Temple) also so wrong.

Let me also say that even though it has been known and confirmed by every scholar in the world since the late 1800’s that the true City of David is in the lower hill, it has only been in the last 20 years that they have actually built up the City of David and also put a visitor’s center and magnified this most amazing biblical site.

Yes, as unbelievable as it may sound, up until this most recent end time, Mount Zion has been forgotten and misplaced according to Scripture.

Psa 137:5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget;

Psa 137:6 let my tongue cleave to my palate, if I do not remember you, if I do not bring up Jerusalem above the head of my joy.

However, Yahweh tells us in these end times to pester Him and remind Him of His promises to make Mount Zion and Jerusalem a praise in all the earth.

Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem. All the day and all the night they shall not always be silent; you who remember YAHWEH, keep not silent.

Isa 62:7 And give no rest to Him until He sets up and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

That is why I am writing this article; because I believe I am one of those watchmen that Yahweh has set to reveal His truth to His end time remnant and to prepare them for the soon coming Kingdom of Yahweh.

Isa 62:1 For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent; and for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest; until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and Y’shua* as a burning torch.

So let me now from Scripture prove unequivocally that the City of David is indeed Mount Zion, which is also the Temple Mount and the place of Solomon’s Sanctuary to Yahweh; and also the second Temple was built in the same place as the first Temple.

2nd Sam 5:6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem, to the Jebusites, those dwelling in the land. And one spoke to David, saying, You shall not come in here except you will turn away the blind and the lame, saying, David cannot come in here.

2nd Sam 5:7 And David captured the stronghold of Zion. It is the city of David.

2nd Sam 5:8 David said on that day, Anyone who strikes the Jebusite, let him go by the water shaft, and let him take the lame and the blind, the hated of the soul of David. On this account they say, The blind and the lame shall not enter into the house.

2nd Sam 5:9 David lived in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward.

2nd Chron 5:2 Then Solomon gathered the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, rulers of the fathers of the sons of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH from the city of David; that is Mount Zion.

1st Chron 11:5 And the ones living in Jebus said to David, You shall not come in here. But David captured the fortress of Zion; it is the city of David.

1st Chron 11:6 And David said, Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall become head and commander. And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first and became head.

1st Chron 11:7 And David lived in the fortress; on this account they called it the City of David.

1st Chron 11:8 And he built the city all around, from Millo even all around. And Joab restored the rest of the city.

So, it is extremely clear from Scripture that Mount Zion is indeed the City of David. Also, the above scripture speaks of David building from the Millo and inward; what is the Millo?

Mount Zion was originally a Jebusite fortress and also called the Citadel because it was so defensible due to the enormous size of the walls and the natural defense that it had from the lower elevation of the Kidron valley. From the base of the Kidron some walls were as high as 400 feet and even higher ones made by Solomon. That is why in 2nd Sam 5:6, the Jebusite king told David that the blind and the lame could turn him away from the city as they thought it was completely defensible and unpenatratable.

This citadel or fortress of Zion was on a southern hill called the Akra and became the City of David. Just north of Mount Zion was another hill that was called the Ophel where Araunah the Jebusite had a threshing floor and where David bought that hill and it was the location of Solomon’s Temple.

Between the Akra and the Ophel was a small valley that Solomon filled in to make the Akra and the Ophel one mountaintop; and this area between the Akra and the Ophel was called the Millo. In Hebrew Millo means fill and that’s exactly what Solomon did, he filled the Millo with dirt and bones and broken pottery, and expanded Mount Zion (Jerusalem) to now consist of both the Akra and the Ophel hills, which were connected by the filled in Millo. (Please see picture below).

Fort Antonia is the rectangular structure below on the left (north) of the Ophel hill.

This is why Psalm 122 states that Jerusalem is a “city built unto itself’. This is because the two hills of Mount Zion, the Akra and the Ophel were connected and built together by filling in the Millo.

Psa 122:3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is joined to itself, together.

Psa 122:4 There the tribes go up, the tribes of Yah; to the testimony of Israel; to give thanks to the name of YAHWEH.

Psa 122:5 For the thrones of judgment were established there, the thrones of the house of David.

It is interesting with the recent archeological digs over the last 18 years in the City of David that they have found the Akra and original Jebusite city that David conquered; and going back all the way to Kathleen Kenyon’s dig in the 1960’s they also have located the Millo, and even now with the recent digs in the Ophel, which is connected to the Millo on the north side and the Millo connected to the original Mount Zion on the south side, they still incorrectly place the Temple Mount a third of a mile north in what is the remains of the Roman Fort Antonia. Also, look at verse one of Psalm 122 to prove that the Sanctuary of Yahweh was in Mount Zion or the City of David.

Psa 122:1 [A Song of Ascents; of David.] I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of YAHWEH.

Clearly, the psalmist was glad to go to Mount Zion (the City of David) to the House of Yahweh. The House of Yahweh is in Mount Zion, which is the City of David.

Psa 48:1 [A Song, A Psalm for the Sons of Korah.] Great is YAHWEH, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our Elohim, His holy mountain.

Psa 48:2 Beautiful on high, the joy of all the earth, is Mount Zion, in the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Psa 48:3 Elohim is known in her strongholds (Citadel) for a refuge.

Scripture is most clear that Mount Zion is the City of David, and the City of David was in the citadel of Zion, which was also where Yahweh’s Sanctuary (Temple) was built. It could not be any clearer, and Solomon before building the Sanctuary of Yahweh connected the Akra (Mount Zion) with the Ophel hill by filling in the Millo gap between them.

1st Ki 11:27b Solomon built Millo, and closed up the breaks of the city of his father David.

Only by Jews being expelled from Jerusalem for almost 1,000 years, and then erroneously placing the Temple Mount on the place of the Roman Fort Antonia do we have the inaccurate placing of Solomon’s and Herod’s Temple today.

So why is this so important? Because Yahweh made an extremely important promise to King David and cut a covenant with him to build David an eternal house and an eternal dynasty in the City of David, which is Mount Zion. And the place of this promise being Mount Zion is no coincidence as Mount Zion is not only the City of David, but was also where the Garden of Eden was and where Yahweh had chosen to dwell with His presence since the Creation account in the book of Genesis.

It is also interesting to note that when Joshua entered the Promised Land of Israel, neither he nor any tribe of the sons of Israel were allowed to take Mount Zion as their inheritance for almost 450 years until King David came and was anointed by Samuel as not only king of Israel at that time, but told that he would have an eternal Kingdom, which would dwell from Mount Zion all over the earth.

2nd Sam 7:8 And now, so you shall say to My servant, to David, So says YAHWEH of Hosts, I have taken you from the good pasture, from following the flock, to be ruler over My people, over Israel.

2nd Sam 7:9 And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth.

2nd Sam 7:10 And I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place and not be made to tremble any more. Nor shall the sons of evil afflict them again, as at the first,

2nd Sam 7:11 even from the day I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. And I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. And YAHWEH declares to you that YAHWEH will make you a house.

2nd Sam 7:12 your days are fulfilled, and you lie with your fathers, then I shall raise up your seed after you, who shall come out from your loins, and I shall establish his kingdom.

2nd Sam 7:13 He shall build a house for My Name, and I shall establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

2nd Sam 7:14 I shall be a father to him, and he shall be a son to Me. If He takes iniquity upon Himself, then I will chasten him with a rod of men, and with strokes of the sons of men.

2nd Sam 7:15 But My mercy shall not be taken from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

2nd Sam 7:16 And your house shall be sure, and your kingdom before me forever. Your throne shall be established forever.

This could not possibly be speaking of Solomon as Solomon did not even have one son reigning over the united Israel but had the Kingdom torn away from him due to his idolatry and disobedience. This scripture is speaking about the Messiah who will be a Son of David and reign from Mount Zion in an eternal Kingdom and dynasty that Yahweh would establish for the House of David in the future and it would last forever.

Eze 37:15 And the Word of YAHWEH was to me,

Eze 37:16 saying, And you, son of man, take one stick to yourself and write on it, For Judah, and for his companions, the sons of Israel. And take another stick and write on it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.

Eze 37:17 draw them one to one for yourself, into one (echad) stick. And they shall become one (echad) in your hand.

Eze 37:18 And when the sons of your people shall speak to you, saying, Will you not declare to us what these mean to you?

Eze 37:19 Say to them, So says Adonai YAHWEH: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions. And I will put them with him, with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick, and they shall be one (echad) in My hand.

Eze 37:20 And the sticks shall be in your hand, the ones on which you write before their eyes.

Eze 37:21 And say to them, So says Adonai YAHWEH: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations, there where they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and will bring them into their own land.

Eze 37:22 And I will make them one (echad) nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be for a king to all of them. And they shall not be two nations anymore. And they will not be split into two kingdoms any more.

Eze 37:23 And they will not still be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places where they have sinned in them, and I will cleanse them. So they shall be for a people to Me and I will be for Elohim to them.

Eze 37:24 And My servant, David, shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments and keep My statutes, and do them.

Eze 37:25 And they shall dwell on the land that I have given to My servant, to Jacob, there where your fathers dwelt in it. And they shall dwell on it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, forever. And My servant David shall be a ruler to them forever.

Eze 37:26 And I will cut a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant it shall be with them, And I will place them and multiply them, and I will put (Aleph/Tav) My sanctuary in their midst forever.

Eze 37:27 And My tabernacle shall be with them, and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

Eze 37:28 And when My sanctuary shall be in their midst forever, the nations shall know that I, YAHWEH, sanctify Israel.

Jer 30:9 but they shall serve YAHWEH their Elohim, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.

This promise is what we know in Scripture as the Davidic Covenant that Yahweh made with King David and assures that the coming Messiah would have to be from the lineage of the House of David to qualify to rule in this millennial Temple.

Also, an extremely important point that many people miss is that originally Yahweh reigned as King and Priest to Israel, and Yahweh Yahshua actually did the first sacrifice in making skins to clothe Adam and Eve.

Gen 3:21 And YAHWEH Elohim made coats of skin for the man and his wife, and clothed them. Yahweh also had planned on Israel being a kingdom of priests to Him.

Exo 19:5 And now if listening you will listen to My voice, and will keep My covenant, you shall become a special treasure to Me above all the nations, for all the earth is Mine.

Exo 19:6 And you shall become a kingdom of priests for Me, a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

However, after the golden calf incident Yahweh had to temporarily establish the ceremonial law through the Levitical Order until the Messiah would appear and reunite the offices of king and priest once again. No longer would Israel be a kingdom of priests to Yahweh, but Levi would represent the 12 tribes in the ceremonial worship in the tabernacle with Aaron representing the high priesthood, shadowing the eternal Melchizedek Order.

From this time the office of king and the office of priest were two separate offices; however, we know that the true priesthood of Melchizedek is an office of both king and priest, as the very title of Melchi- zedec means King of Righteousness and Genesis 14:18 states He was the priest of the Most High El.

Many people miss the fact in Scripture that not only was it prophesied that the Messiah would reign as King and be from the very seed of King David, but that also David was a Melchizedek priest and so also His ruling Son Messiah would be a Melchizedek priest. Let’s look at the following scriptures to clearly prove this point, as it is vital to understanding the Key of David.

When Eli was old, Yahweh told him that his priesthood through his lineage would be taken away from him and given to another righteous priest.

1st Sam 2:22 And Eli was very old and had heard all that his sons did to Israel, and how they lay with the women who assembled by troops at the door of the tent of meeting.

1st Sam 2:27 a man of Elohim came to Eli, and said to him, So says YAHWEH: Did I reveal Myself plainly to the house of your father when they were in Egypt, at the house of Pharaoh,

1st Sam 2:28 even to choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be priest to Me, to go up on My altar, to cause incense to smoke, to bear an ephod before Me? And did I give to your father’s house all the fire offerings of the sons of Israel?

1st Sam 2:29 Why do you kick at My sacrifice and at My offering which I commanded in My habitation?

And why do you honor your sons above Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of My people?

1st Sam 2:30 So says YAHWEH the Elohim of Israel, I said indeed that your house and your father’s house should walk before Me until forever. But now YAHWEH says, Be it far from Me! For those who honor Me I will honor; and those despising Me will be despicable

1st Sam 2:34 And this shall be the sign to you, that which shall come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day the both of them shall die.

1st Sam 2:35 And I shall raise up for Myself a faithful priest. He shall do all that is in My heart and in My soul. And I shall build for him a sure house; and he shall walk before My Messiah all the days.

Not only did Yahweh say He would take away the priesthood from Eli and give it to one more righteous, but He plainly stated that this man would have a heart just like Yahweh, and also that Yahweh would build a sure (everlasting) house and dynasty for him. Who is the only person in Scripture that Yahweh calls a man after His own heart and also says He will build a sure house for him?

1st Sam 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, You have acted foolishly that you have not kept the command of YAHWEH your Elohim which He commanded you. For now YAHWEH would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

1st Sam 13:14 But now your kingdom shall not stand. YAHWEH has sought out for Himself a man according to His own heart, and YAHWEH has appointed him as leader over His people. For you have not kept that which YAHWEH commanded you.

1st Chron 17:7 And now you shall say this to My servant, to David, So says YAHWEH of Hosts, I have taken you from the pasture from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel;

1st Chron 17:8 and I have been with you wherever you have walked; and I have cut off all your enemies from before you; and have made for you a name like the name of the great ones in the earth.

1st Chron 17:10 yea, even from the day that I appointed judges over My people Israel. And I will humble all your enemies; and I declare to you that YAHWEH shall build a house for you;

1st Chron 17:11 it shall be, when your days have been fulfilled to go away with your fathers, that I shall raise up your seed after you, who shall be of your sons, and I shall establish his kingdom.

1st Chron 17:12 He shall build a house for Me, and I shall establish his throne forever;

1st Chron 17:13 I shall become a Father to him, and he shall become a son to Me; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it away from him who was before you;

1st Chron 17:14 and I will establish Him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be made to stand forever.

1st Chron 17:15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

Only King David is given this tremendous prophecy and only King David was promised an eternal Kingdom as both king and priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

Psa 110:4 YAHWEH has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Remember, it was actually King David who wrote this inspired psalm from Yahweh Himself. So, was David then indeed also a priest as well as a king? The astonishing answer is YES! David was a priest as we shall see, but not a priest after Levi but after Melchizedek.

Heb 7:14 For it is evident that our Master has risen out of Judah, as to which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.

There are characteristics and job descriptions from Scripture that only a priest could perform or else he would be cursed by Yahweh for breaking judicial order just as Uzzah was cursed for inadvertently touching the ark of the covenant when it was about to fall over.

2nd Chron 26:3 Uzziah was a son of sixteen years when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty two years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

2nd Chron 26:16 And when he became strong, his heart was lifted up to act corruptly; and he trespassed against YAHWEH his Elohim, and went in to the sanctuary of YAHWEH to burn incense on the altar of incense.

2nd Chron 26:17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and eighty priests of YAHWEH with him, sons of valor;

2nd Chron 26:18 and they stood up against Uzziah the king, and said to him, It is not for you, O Uzziah, to burn incense to YAHWEH, but to the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are sanctified to burn incense; go out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed; and it is not to your honor from YAHWEH Elohim.

2nd Chron 26:19 And Uzziah was angry, and in his hand was a censer to burn incense; and when he was angry with the priests, the leprosy rose in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of YAHWEH, beside the altar of incense.

2nd Chron 26:20 And Azariah the head priest and all the priests turned toward him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead. And they hurried him from there, and he also himself hurried to leave, for YAHWEH had touched him.

2nd Chron 26:21 And Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house as a leper, for he had been cut off from the house of YAHWEH; and his son Jotham was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

As a king and NOT a priest Uzziah had no authority from Yahweh to burn incense on the altar or to even enter the Sanctuary of Yahweh that was only for the priests. So let’s see some actions by King David that he performed that only a priest of Yahweh would have been allowed to carry out.

2nd Sam 6:14 And David was dancing with all his might before YAHWEH. And David was girded with a linen ephod.

2nd Sam 6:17 And they brought the ark of YAHWEH in, and set it up in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it. And David caused burnt offerings to be offered before YAHWEH, and peace offerings.

2nd Sam 6:18 And David finished offering the burnt offerings, and the peace offerings, and blessed the people in the name of YAHWEH of Hosts.

Here we not only see David wearing an ephod (an apron that only the priests were allowed to wear), but he is also sacrificing animals. In the scripture below, we see that Saul actually lost out on the kingdom because he went outside of Yahweh’s judicial order and sacrificed an animal even though he had no authority, not being a priest.

1st Sam 13:7 And the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. And Saul was still in Gilgal. And all the people followed him, trembling.

1st Sam 13:8 And he waited seven days, according to the set time with Samuel. But Samuel had not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

1st Sam 13:9 And Saul said, Bring near to me the burnt offering and the peace offerings. And he offered up the burnt offering.

1st Sam 13:10 And it happened, as soon as he finished the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came. And Saul went out to meet him, and to bless him.

1st Sam 13:11 And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattering from me, and you did not come in the days set out, and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash,

1st Sam 13:12 then I said, Now the Philistines will come down to me to Gilgal, and I have not sweetened the face of YAHWEH; and I forced myself, and offered a burnt offering.

Yahweh is not a respecter of persons and if it was wrong for Saul not being a priest to sacrifice an animal, then it also would have been wrong for David to sacrifice an animal if he were not a priest, but as we already explained David was a priest; not a Levitcal one but a Melchizedek priest. Look below how David also ate the bread from the table of showbread that was only for priests.

1st Sam 21:3 And now, what is there under your hand? Give five loaves into my hand, or whatever is found.

1st Sam 21:4 And the priest answered David and said, There is no common bread under my hand, but only holy bread, if the young men have only been kept from a woman.

1st Sam 21:5 And David answered the priest and said to him, Surely, a woman has been kept from us as yesterday and the third day, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy. And in a way the holy bread is common; also surely today it is sanctified in the vessels.

1st Sam 21:6 And the priest gave the holy bread to him, for there was no bread there except the Bread of the Presence which is taken from the presence of YAHWEH in order to put hot bread in on the day it is taken away.

Look below that even Yahshua states that David was blameless in eating this bread.

Luk 6:2 But some of the Pharisees said to them, Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?

Luk 6:3 And answering, Yahshua said to them, And have you not read the thing, which David did when he hungered, and those who were with him?

Luk 6:4 How he entered into the house of YAHWEH and he took the bread on the table of YAHWEH and ate it and he gave to those who were with him that which was not lawful for anyone to eat except only the priests.

Yahshua’s disciples were being falsely accused of breaking the Sabbath, in which they were not, and Yahshua uses the example of David also being falsely accused of it not being lawful for him to eat the showbread, but it was lawful since he was a priest.

David also sat next to the ark of the covenant of Yahweh which only a priest would have been able to do.

2nd Sam 7:18 And King David came in and sat before YAHWEH, and said: Who am I, O Adonai YAHWEH, and what is my house, that you have brought me here?

Yahweh was not only making this special covenant with David but with his house since a Son of his very loins would be born to be Messiah and King of the universe. This is why Scripture clearly states that David’s sons were priests.

2nd Sam 8:18 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were priests.

The Hebrew word used here is ‘Cohen’, the word for priests of the highest order. David’s sons were not Levitical priests but were Melchizedek ones as he was.

Psa 110:1 [A Psalm of David.] A declaration of YAHWEH to my Adonai: Sit at My right hand, until I place Your enemies as Your footstool.

Psa 110:2 YAHWEH shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion to rule in the midst of Your enemies.

Psa 110:4 YAHWEH has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

So now I have explained that the City of David is indeed Mount Zion, and Mount Zion is indeed the place where Yahweh has chosen to eternally dwell; and also that the promise made by Yahweh to David was clearly given that a son who would come out of his loins would be Messiah and reign forever in a sanctuary built by Yahweh for David and Yahweh’s Messiah.

Also, that David was indeed a Melchizedek priest as is the Son who came though his loins, Yahshua of Nazareth, who is the high priest of the Melchizedek order (Hebrews 7). Now I would like to share with you a discovery that was announced this summer in the City of David that Yahweh not only blessed me to see, but has revealed to me the secret of the Key of David through the above promises and this most amazing discovery.

Late this past summer in 2014, the archaeologists who have been digging in the City of David for almost 20 years now had a conference with other archaeologists here in Israel to discuss recent findings on the City of David dig; they have unearthed the Citadel that they believe was used for Melchizedek, but the bomb shell that was revealed was that they have uncovered a place of worship that was also used for sacrificing animals while digging in the City of David close to the Gihon Spring.

Since most people don’t believe or even seem to have interest in the true location of the true Temple Mount this story went mostly uncovered. However, I was blessed by Yahweh to be able to go to Jerusalem and was able to meet with the archaeologist who found the site to see exactly what was found, and where it was found, and I want to share that with you now.

What was found above the Gihon Spring was an area where the animals were taken to, and killed, and the place of an altar where the animal was killed and where the blood dripped into a basin. Also, next to it was found an olive oil press where fresh oil was pressed for holy functions such as anointing, and also a grain mill for grain sacrifices. There was also an area were there used to be racks to hang the animals for skinning and preparing for sacrifice. The place was a commercial area used for the sacrifices of many animals and not a small area used for private use.

Also, and maybe the most important find at this site was a stella (standing stone) used for worship that was in its original position. The stone had no markings that would make one think it was for pagan use; and also, what was amazing is that almost every pagan temple ever found is oriented from west to east as the pagans worshipped the sun rising in the east, but this worship area was situated exactly as the sanctuary of Yahweh from east to west, not for the worshipper to face the sun. Also, remember these finds were not just found anywhere but in the very City of David (the Akra) right above the Gihon Spring with even a staircase from the area going up and down to the spring that was there from the time before King David, even as far back as Melchizedek.

The area where these artifacts are is not open to the public but is a restricted area presently with a giant metal gate and a lock with a key and a big chain securing the area, and as I was currently one of the few individuals on earth blessed to see the proof of this most holy place, the Holy Spirit put the following scripture in my mind.

Rev 3:7 And to the messenger of the congregation in Philadelphia, write: These things says the Holy One, the True One, “The One having the key of David, the One opening, and no one shuts; and shuts, and no one opens:” (Isa 22:22)

Rev 3:8 I know your works. Behold, I have given a door being opened before you, and no one is able to shut it, for you have a little strength and have kept My Word, and have not denied My name.

As the key was being inserted into this giant metal door and the heavy chain, I was most humbled thinking that only Yahweh can give such knowledge and only Yahweh could open such doors. 99% of scholars and archaeologists have been blinded to the true place of the Sanctuary of Yahweh in place of a pagan Roman fort that was the symbol of the destruction of the Jewish people.

However, this most important holy place was not the place of Solomon’s Temple as Solomon’s Temple was on the Ophel hill just north of the Akra connected by the Millo, which is clearly located in recent excavations on the Ophel hill; and they have discovered proof of the location of Solomon’s Temple and also the walls that Nehemiah built around the Sanctuary of Yahweh in the 5th century B.C.

So, what was this most intriguing find that I was blessed to witness in the Akra (City of David)?

It was the most amazing archaeological find we have ever witnessed to date, even bigger than the Temple of Solomon, or for that matter the ark of the covenant; what I witnessed was the unveiling of the Key of David in Scripture, and the very place that King David brought the holy ark of Yahweh to when he was coronated king over the united Kingdom of Israel in the City of David.

1st Chron 15:1 And he built houses for himself in the City of David, and prepared a place for the ark of The Elohim, and pitched a tent for it.

1st Chron 15:2 Then David said, None should bear the ark of The Elohim except the Levites, for YAHWEH had chosen them to bear the ark of The Elohim, and to serve Him forever.

1st Chron 15:3 And David gathered all Israel to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of YAHWEH to its place that he had prepared for it.

1st Chron 15:11 And David called to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, and to the Levites, to Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

1st Chron 15:12 and said to them, You are the heads of your fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brothers, and you shall bring up the ark of YAHWEH, the Elohim of Israel, to the place I have prepared for it.

1st Chron 15:13 Because you did not do so at the first, YAHWEH our Elohim broke in against us, for we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.

1st Chron 15:14 And the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of YAHWEH the Elohim of Israel.

1st Chron 15:15 And the sons of the Levites carried the ark of The Elohim, as Moses commanded, according to the Word of YAHWEH, by staves above on the shoulders.

1st Chron 15:27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah, the master of the song with the singers. David also had an ephod of linen on him.

1st Chron 15:28 And all Israel was bringing up the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH with shouting, and with the sound of a horn, and with trumpets, and cymbals, sounding aloud with lyres and harps

1st Chron 16:1 And they brought in the ark of The Elohim, and set it down in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before The Elohim.

1st Chron 16:2 And when David finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offering, and he blessed the people in the name of YAHWEH;

The first time David tried to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh he did not practice judicial order and put it on a cart ,and Uzzah reached out to stop it from falling and died for touching it, but now King David fully followed Yahweh’s judicial order and had the Levites carry the ark as described in the Torah and he also prepared a place for it in the City of David (Akra) and put up a tent for it to dwell. This is the very place that I was blessed to see just above the Gihon Spring, which was used for hosting the ark of the covenant and Yahweh’s presence during the last 33 years of David’s kingship.

King David was also sacrificing animals, so there had to be an altar there in order for him to do so. The holy place I was blessed to see which was right above the Gihon Spring had the very altar that King David would have used for sacrificing the animals as he brought up the ark.

Let’s look at what Scripture states about when Solomon was coronated king.

1st Ki 1:32 And King David said, Call Zadok the priest for me and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came in before the king.

1st Ki 1:33 And the king said to them, Take with you the servants of your master, and you shall cause my son Solomon to ride on my mule, and cause him to go down to Gihon.

1st Ki 1:34 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet shall anoint him there as king over Israel.

And you shall blow with the ram’s horn and shout, Let King Solomon live!

1st Ki 1:38 And Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went out and caused Solomon to ride on King David’s mule, and caused him to go to Gihon.

1st Ki 1:39 And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil out of the Tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew with the ram’s horn, and all the people shouted, Let King Solomon live!

Very clearly Solomon was anointed at the Gihon Spring and Zadok the priest went into the tent that David had set up and took holy anointing oil to anoint Solomon. Interesting enough is that the holy place that I was standing in was just above the Gihon spring with an olive oil press for holy anointing oil and was no doubt the very place that all this happened.

However, after King David died, Solomon did not build the Sanctuary of Yahweh in the Akra where Yahweh promised to build an eternal house for King David, but he connected the Akra (City of David) with the Ophel hill by filling in the Millo and then built the Temple on the Ophel and moved the ark of the covenant to the Ophel from the Akra where it was housed in the holy area that I was in, in the City of David.

1st Ki 8:1 Then Solomon gathered the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH out of the city of David, which is Zion.

1st Ki 8:2 And all the men of Israel were gathered to King Solomon, in the month of Ethanim, at the feast, which is the seventh month.

1st Ki 8:3 And all the elders of Israel came in, and the priests lifted up the ark,

1st Ki 8:4 and brought up the ark of YAHWEH, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those priests and the Levites brought.

After this Solomon cleaned the area where King David had his tabernacle and covered it up where it laid hidden for the last almost 3,000 years until the archaeologist just discovered and dug the area up in the last 2 years.

So what is the great significance of finding the very altar and tabernacle that King David used to house the ark of the covenant and also do animal sacrifice and coronate King Solomon? Because Scripture tells us this is the very sign that will show that the Messiah is ready to return!

Amos 9:6 It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and His firmament He has founded, binding the heavens over the earth; He who calls for the sea-waters and pours them out on the face of the earth, YAHWEH is His name.

Amos 9:8 Behold, the eyes of Adonai YAHWEH are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; only that I will not completely destroy the house of Jacob, declares YAHWEH.

Amos 9:9 For behold, I will command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes with a sieve; yet not a grain shall fall to the ground.

Amos 9:11 In that day I will raise up the Sukkoth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old;

Amos 9:14 And I will bring back the captivity of My people Israel. And they shall build the waste cities, and live in them. And they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of them. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Amos 9:15 And I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, says YAHWEH your Elohim.

Very clearly in the prophecy in Amos 9:11 Yahweh states that in the Messianic age when Israel will return to being a nation that He will raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen and raise up its ruins and build it as in the days of old. This is speaking about archaeology and that the digging and raising up the tabernacle of David that King Solomon covered up is the very sign of the Messiah’s return.

Also, look at the following scripture.

Psa 102:12 But You, O YAHWEH, shall dwell forever, and Your memory to generation and generation.

Psa 102:13 You shall arise; have mercy on Zion, for the time to pity her, yea, the appointed time (mo’ed) has come.

Psa 102:14 For Your servants take pleasure in its stones, and pity its dust.

Psa 102:15 So nations shall fear the name of YAHWEH, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.

Psa 102:16 When YAHWEH shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory.

Psa 102:17 He will turn to the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer.

Psa 102:18 This shall be written for the last generation, and people to be created shall praise YAHWEH.

Psa 102:19 For He has looked down from the height of His sanctuary; YAHWEH looked from Heaven to the earth,

Psa 102:20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free the sons of death,

Psa 102:21 to declare the name of YAHWEH in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem,

What an amazing scripture! It speaks of Yahweh having mercy on Zion and her appointed time coming or the time that she will be rebuilt or rediscovered, and the very next verse states that His servants take pleasure in its stones and pity its dust, another clear reference to archaeology. And verse 16 is most clear that when Yahweh will rebuild Mount Zion the Messiah will appear and this is written for the last generation. Mount Zion is rebuilt and it is the clearest sign yet that Yahshua is getting ready to appear and rebuild, not a tent for King David as he had before for the ark of Yahweh, but He will build a sure house for King David to dwell in forever.

Zec 6:12 And speak to him, saying, So says YAHWEH of Hosts, saying, Behold! The Man whose name is THE BRANCH! And He shall spring up out of His place, and He shall build the sanctuary of YAHWEH.

Zec 6:13 Even He shall build the sanctuary of YAHWEH; and He shall bear the majesty, and shall sit and rule on His throne. And He shall be a priest on His throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between the two of them (King & Priest as Melchizedek).

Yes, there are many signs that the time of the Messiah’s return is imminent but there is no clearer sign of His coming than the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David that had fallen. The Apostle Jacob also prophesied about the tabernacle of David being found and restored.

Act 15:15 And with this agree the Words of the prophets, as it has been written,

Act 15:16 After these things “I will return and will build again the tabernacle of David which has fallen,” “And I will build again the things which have been demolished, and I will set it up,”

Act 15:17 So that YAHWEH will seek the remainder of mankind and all the nations, those who My name is called over them, said YAHWEH who made all these things.

Look however in verse 17 where the finding and unearthing of the tabernacle of David is also linked with regathering the people around the earth who are called by His name (Israel). This is most interesting as only since the mid 1990’s has there been a worldwide movement of believers being inspired by the Holy Spirit that they are not gentiles but actually remnants from the lost tribes of Israel called in Scripture Ephraim, which was the head tribe of the north.

Let’s look in the book of Romans what it means when the northern tribes of Israel will recognize their true identity.

Rom 11:1 I say then, Did not YAHWEH thrust away His people? Let it not be! For I also am an Israelite, out of Abraham’s seed, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Rom 11:2a “YAHWEH did not thrust away His people” whom He foreknew.

Rom 11:5 Even so, in this present time a remnant is preserved, elected by grace and has come into being.

Rom 11:11 I say, then, Did not they stumble that they should fall? Let it not be! But by their slipping away came salvation to the nations, to provoke them to jealousy.

Rom 11:12 Now if their slipping away is the riches of the world, and their condemnation the riches of the nations, how much more their restoration?

Rom 11:15 For if their casting away is the reconciliation of the world, what will their restoration be, except life from the dead?

The covenant Yahweh made was with the house of Israel and since they were cast into Diaspora when Yahshua sent out the Apostles in the New Covenant, He told them not to go the way of the gentiles but go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Mat 10:6).

However, Yahweh is not a respecter of persons; and as the Apostles took the message of salvation to the nations anyone of any race or place could join themselves to Israel if their heart was one of repentance toward Yahweh and they accepted Yahshua as Savior for forgiveness of their sins.

That is why Yahweh states in verse 11, that their falling away became salvation for the nations. However, it also states in verse 15 that their restoration will be life from the dead; THE RESURRECTION! So we see that the rebuilding and restoration of the tabernacle of David is linked with the understanding and restoration of Israel understanding their identity, which will bring the return of Messiah and the resurrection of the dead.

This is why the finding and restoring of David’s tabernacle is so important and a marker to the remnant believers that Yahshua’s return is close. I want to add one last point in this article that is also important to the equation at hand.

I mentioned about the amazing standing stone (pillar) that was found in the City of David in an area that the archaeologist called the Holy of Holies. This was an extremely special stone that was put there as a marker for worship to Yahweh. Now also of interest is the fact that the archaeologist also stated that this holy place was originally used by Melchizedek, and then, also used until the time of Solomon.

If we also understand the fact that the very Garden of Eden was in Jerusalem at this very place where the Gihon Spring originates from, then, what I will share next is simply an amazing end to an amazing find. Melchizedek was called the King of Salem, which is Jerusalem. The name Yeru-shalim, is the city of peace, but the prefix to this name ‘yeru’ literally means cornerstone. And the pillar that was laid there was prophesied to be a cornerstone of the millennial temple to come.

Gen 28:10 And Jacob went out from Beer-Sheba and went toward Haran.

Gen 28:11 And he came on a place and stayed the night there, for the sun had gone. And he took stones of the place and placed them at his head; and he lay down in that place.

Gen 28:12 And he dreamed. And, behold, a staircase was placed on the earth, its top reaching to the heavens. And, behold, the messengers of Elohim were going up and going down on it!

Gen 28:13 And, behold, YAHWEH stood above it and said, I am YAHWEH the Elohim of your father Abraham, and the Elohim of Isaac; the land on which you are lying, I will give it to you and to your seed.

Gen 28:14 And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your Seed

Gen 28:16 And Jacob awakened from his sleep, and said, Surely YAHWEH is in this place, and I did not know.

Gen 28:17 And he was afraid, and said, How fearful is this place! This is nothing except the house of Elohim, and this is the door to Heaven.

Gen 28:18 And Jacob started up early in the morning and took the stone which he had placed at his head, and he placed it as a pillar; and he poured oil on the top of it.

Gen 28:19a And he called the name of that place, Beit-El (The House of Elohim).

This story is extremely prophetic and shows the very foundation of Yahweh’s covenant with Israel and also the stone that will be the foundation for the millennial Sanctuary of Yahweh. I believe the stone I saw in the City of David very well could have been this stone that Jacob took and placed as when he called it Bethel, he was not necessarily naming the City that is a few kilometers away from Jerusalem but he was naming where the house of El will be, as that is what Beit-El means.

Also, if you look back at Amos 9 in which the prophecy of the unearthing and restoring of the tabernacle of David is revealed, look at what it states in verse 6.

Amos 9:6 It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and His firmament He has founded, binding the heavens over the earth; He who calls for the sea-waters and pours them out on the face of the earth, YAHWEH is His name.

Amos 9:9 For behold, I will command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes with a sieve; yet not a grain shall fall to the ground.

Amos 9:11 In that day I will raise up the Sukkoth (tent or tabernacle) of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old.

So here in this most important prophetic chapter we see the staircase of Yahweh connected with Jacob’s stone in verse 6, we see the calling back of the tribes of Israel in verse 9, and we see the unearthing and restoring of the tabernacle of David in verse 11. In the place I was blessed to see in the City of David, where the holy stone was placed is right next to a staircase going up and down on each side to the source of the Gihon Spring, the very water source at Creation (Gen 2:13).

In this the Key of David is solved. Yahweh made an eternal promise to Abraham, in which He confirmed to Jacob and expanded to King David that Yahweh would build an eternal house for King David, not on the Opel hill that Solomon connected to the City of David by filling in the Millo, but Yahweh would build a house for King David in the Akra, the original City of David at the site that Melchizedek (Yahshua) the High Priest reigned and the place that Yahweh’s presence and the ark of the covenant originally stood in the tabernacle of David that was covered up when it was moved by Solomon to the Ophel. Then for the last 3,000 years history has been waiting for the ‘appointed time’ according to Psalm 102:13, when Yahweh would inspire the unearthing and restoring of the tabernacle of King David that had fallen and the discovery of Jacob’s stone, the cornerstone for the millennial Melchizedek Sanctuary to be built by Yahshua Himself for David and His House forever (Zech 6:12-13).

Isa 28:16 So, Adonai YAHWEH says this: Behold, I place in Zion a Stone for a foundation, a tried Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; he who believes shall not hurry.

Isa 28:17 And I will lay justice for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of the lie; and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Amazingly enough, it states he who believes will not hurry and when I saw this stone I simply could not leave and stayed in this area for about one hour or more.

This stone sitting above the Gihon Spring (where the waters flow in Mount Zion) will sweep away all lies of the enemy and bring in everlasting righteousness. Truly it is the stone the builders have rejected that has become the head of the corner, the very stone representing Yahshua, the King of Righteousness (Melchi- zedek) the Messiah and King of Israel.

Dan 2:34 You continued until a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces.

Dan 2:35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were together crushed to pieces, and they became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors. And the wind carried them away so that no place was found for them. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings, the Eloh of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other people. It shall crush in pieces and make an end all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Dan 2:45 Because you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold in pieces. The great Eloh has made known to the king what shall occur after this. And the dream is certain, and the meaning of it is trustworthy.

This is one of, if not the most fascinating finds of our time and clearly is a marker to the closeness of the days we are living in. I am most humbled that Yahweh has chosen myself to reveal the Key of David to His end time remnant.

Yahweh has opened amazing doors for bringing the Good-News of Yahshua from Jerusalem to the entire earth. Truly, Yahweh is showing to His true remnant bride that the time is at hand and we need to repent of any lingering sins in our lives and prepare for the Bridegroom’s return. We welcome all true believers that understand judicial order to join with us in this great end time commission.
